Gold Coast Community Christmas Lunch 2017

17th October 2017
By Walt Cudlip

Yes, we know it's early but we just wanted to ask you to put this on your list as you start thinking about hitting the shops for the silly season.

Once again we ask for your generosity in supporting the FREE GOLD COAST COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS LUNCH that our friend and colleague, Susie Longman, will be organising again this year.  Susie and her team will be giving up their Christmas Day to ensure that the less privileged, homeless and lonely have a spectacular lunch and, very importantly, that their children receive a gift from Santa Claus. You can keep up to date with the progress of this charitable event by checking out the Facebook page FREE Gold Coast Christmas Lunch.

As in previous years, we ask that you purchase a gift for a child between 0 – 15 years. The gift should be NEW, marked VERY CLEARLY with the AGE and GENDER of the child and delivered UNWRAPPED!  We ask that you do not purchase toy guns or other weapons for these children.

The reason we suggest that the gifts be unwrapped is so that we (a team of volunteers) can wrap them ourselves to ensure, as far as possible, that each child receives a gift of equivalent value.  We will also be collecting non-perishable food items to be delivered to Rosies - Friends on the Street who will hand these out to the homeless prior to Christmas.

Thank you so much, once again, for your most generous support and we ask that you please bring your gift along to the WIT GC Christmas Breakfast on the 1st December at the Sheraton Grand Mirage. If you wish to donate a gift but are unable to attend the breakfast, please contact Beryl Ley on 0409599406 or email who will be only too pleased to collect from you!

For more information about the Christmas Lunch, you can visit their Facebook Page (like, share and show your support, it's much appreciated).
